Bermuda grass in shade

DWQA QuestionsBermuda grass in shade

I have one stretch that gets a lot less sun than other parts of my yard, possibly because it’s oriented towards the east. Do you think Bermuda grass can survive in shade?

When I was researching grasses to replace it with, I read that bermuda isn’t suited for full shade.
Bermuda does tolerate partial shade, but the more sun when established Bermuda is exposed to, the faster and better it will grow. Bermuda requires at least 4 hours of sunlight a day, but it’s best planted in full sun. If your lawn has areas with shade during all day, consider replacing those sections with a shade-tolerant grass instead.
