Ultraviolet heat lamps provide a blue and violet spectrum of light that helps plants grow. They can also be used for pest and disease control. Such lamps are better known as phytolamps, with an ultraviolet bias.

Ultraviolet heat lamps emit ultraviolet radiation that is invisible to the naked eye, but causes plants to produce more chlorophyll, so these lamps are useful in the very first stage of plant growth. The blue color spectrum is very important in the initial stage of plant development, seedlings. It allows seeds to germinate 15-20% more than without it. The violet spectrum gives strength to the stem, making it stronger and more robust. It is the blue and purple spectrum colors that keep seedlings from stretching out too much.

  1. Red colors – help strengthen the root system of already mature plants. Nm range 640-660;
  2. Orange – enhances plant fertility and helps accelerate fruit ripening. Nm range 595-610;
  3. Blue spectrum – helps improve seed germination and also participates in the process of vegetative development. Nm range 440-445;
  4. Violet spectrum – strengthens the stem, making it more powerful. It is it that affects young plants – seedlings in which it strengthens the roots. Range nm 380-400;
  5. Powerful purple – this option is needed for those plants in which you want to increase their natural frost tolerance abilities. Range nm 280-315.

Combination heat lamps usually include LED. But they are quite difficult to find in a gardening store in the form you need. That is, most products are Chinese, so it is not really possible to understand what spectrum of light is inserted in the lamp. Therefore, such a lamp is recommended to assemble itself, which is very easy, or to find a worthwhile seller who can be trusted.
